I always advocate training around an injury, but have you given thought to how we can assist the healing process with the foods we eat?
Whether you are dealing with pain from arthritis, tendonitis, or inflammation from a recent surgery, keeping your cabinets stocked with all the right foods will help the body heal and reduce inflammation. Here are a couple must haves!
🥑 Good healthy fats are full of Omega 3 fatty acids. These foods aid in recovery and inflammation control. They include avocados, olive oil, nuts and seeds, and wild caught salmon.
🍍2 cups of pineapple provide Bromelain, which has been shown to have significant anti-inflammatory effects!
🥗Green leafy veggies like spinach and kale, as well as organic bone broth, garlic, and blueberries will also assist in reducing inflammation!
💊Supplements to include are fish oil, (studies show 3-5g a day when dealing with inflammation), and turmeric (either ground or in pill form).
🍟Avoid processed foods, trans fats, sugar, dairy, and refined grains. These foods will add to the inflammatory process.
