Sleep.  The universe seems to be screaming at me lately about the benefits of getting 7+ hours of sleep a night.  Nutritionists telling me that it will help with cortisol levels and weight loss. The PT in me understanding it will help reduce systemic inflammation, and improve tissue healing and pain modulation.  Research papers letting me know the PROVEN benefits improved sleep can have on my cognitive function and immune health.

But I’m over here like “HELLO….crazy mom of 3?!” I literally cannot remember the last time I got 7 uninterrupted hours of good sleep! What the heck am I supposed to do?!

If you are like me and you can’t improve the QUANTITY of sleep you get, let’s shift focus to the QUALITY of sleep we get.  For any one else out there struggling to get enough sleep here are a couple sleep hygiene tips we can control that might help improve the QUALITY OF SLEEP WE GET.

✅Go to bed at a consistent hour each night.

✅Cut caffeine after 12pm.

✅Reserving the bedroom for sleep and sex only.  No tablets, no phones, no TV.

✅No napping.

✅Exercise before noon.

Start with 1 or 2 and see if they help!!
