I’ve been a physical therapist for the past 15 years specializing in sports medicine and women’s health. And over that time I’ve noticed a huge problem. Patients are coming to me not only with injuries, but often with many other chronic health issues. Things like obesity, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, the list goes on.
My patients WANT to get healthy. But often, they don’t know where to turn to for advice. They aren’t sure what they should be eating, and they feel lost and out of place, even fearful of re injury at a regular gym and in any type of group fitness classes.
Traditionally most Physicians, Physical Therapists, and Chiropractors are strapped for time, and bound by insurance limitations, and as a result are unable to help guide their patients like they need to.
I am so excited to offer a new type of wellness program! Our “GET MOVING!” program here at Reed Fitness and Physical Therapy is unlike any other in the area. We are proud to offer small group training that is custom tailored to the unique needs of each member that walks thru our doors. Not only that, we are also able to incorporate nutrition education and counseling, injury assessment and management, and other lifestyle education!
Every membership begins with a consultation with a Physical Therapist. We are able to assess baseline health markers like blood pressure, body fat, and resting heart rate. We are able to get a comprehensive past medical history and assess any musculoskeletal injuries or limitations.
Armed with that knowledge we can build an appropriate exercise program for you. An individualized program that you do under the guidance of healthcare professionals and in a small group environment. We can tailor this to any ability end experience level, as well as work around any injury or limitations you may have.
Each class is 1hour long and begins with a warm up.
A skill or balance challenge often follows.
Each day you have a different workout that involves functional movements that will build muscle, improve your endurance and prepare you to tackle anything you may encounter in real life!
A guided cool down and stretching will end your session.
Every membership includes a quarterly individual 1:1 session with a Physical therapist to assess progress, re check health markers, and talk goal setting.
